[Beta2] ff_dm_squeek
Wed, Feb. 20th: Beta 2
So, I started and completed this all in one day. There's still a bit I know I need to fix aesthetic-wise, but I want to get it out there to test the lua. This will eventually be a standard dm map, with a HUGE number of different variations possible (see this thread). But, for right now, I just want to test the airshot lua. Here is how I have it set up right now: Four teams. No fall damage, no self-damage, no team-damage, no grenades, unlimited ammo, no reload, no shotgun damage. When hit by the enemy while on the ground, the push force is doubled, but no damage is done. When hit by the enemy in the air, 1/3 life is taken away. Each airshot gives 1 team point and 100 fortress points; 3 airshots to kill. Download (b2):Lua Variations DownloadVariations So Far

Added to Euroskillz. Yea, I have /clipon and /saveme on. Have to figure out a way to unload it on certain maps. Ill try and see what people says when its on and give some real time feedback.
Where do I put the ff_dm_squeek_b1_level_sounds.txt? In the maps folder? |

Playtesting went well. A few things to implement and then it's time to add Yellow and Green and start making the variations.

Make a Smash Bros variation: the less health you have the more you get pushed around by hits. You don't die from damage, but rather from being launched "off" the level :)

Good map, but a few things that should be added. Maybe add some ammo bags in each corner of the map or unlimited ammo would be nice. Also, maybe double the push for rockets I hit myself with so rocket jumping becomes a bit more of an option.

Man this map rocks, lots of fun. Other than adding the two new teams, and removing the hp's from the bag, and the shotty all together, the only thing I'd like more is if the diameter of it was just a little bit bigger over all.

How did you get those blue and red strips up the side above the doors? Did you create another brush and simply texture it with the blue or is there some magical way to go about texturing things?

You should make a dedicated version that plays exactly like Smash Bros. and name it ff_smashbros. It'd be a great change of pace from generic DM, and it might attract a few new players.
