Untitled Map Project (w/ questions)
Hey all, I'm working on a map. Hooray!
No screenies yet, its just too early. It would be like looking at a 3 month old fetus. Except my map isn't three months old.... or as controversial as fetuses... ANYWAYS! It's a capture the flag map. (yawn) I want to add an extra feature though, although now that I see LUA, I'm scurred. I want a flag (or any other object really) in the middle that can be taken back into the base and held for a slight midfield advantage. For example, Team A grabs the center flag and stashes it into their base. A ramp pops up from the ground for Team A to skip a portion of the midfield or launch off of. The flag will continue to sit in Team A's base until it is snatched up by Team B (at which point no team has a ramp) and rushed back into Team B base for a similar ramp. Meanwhile, standard CTF would be taking place. Problem is, even after putting this map together, I wouldn't know how to script all of this crap. Post: Ideas, feedback, support, lua Help. How about a battery for a generator (for the center dealie)?
You can use the car battery model from HL2. Take it to your base, plug it in, and it activates a generator which turns on an energy bridge or something like that.

Also, if you are going to literally use a battery, I would suggest showing similar power setups throughout the base (i.e. batteres plugged in behind cages near lasers protecting a resupply and such) so it is a bit more plausible. Some bases run on generators, some run on imaginary magic power... yours runs on car batteries.
