Oh boy...
Alright, so my dog died, not that it was unexpected because the dog was 17 years old. But we buried him in our backyard, andddd.... my other dog last night dug him up! Wth! We want to bury him again but dont want the other dog digging him up again. What to do.. what to do...

Make a wooden box and put the deceased dog into it. Then the other dog can't get into the box. You also must dig a deeper hole.

Or put stones over the burial site to prevent dissuade your graverobber from gaining access to the other dog...

When my dog used to dig, we used to fill its holes with its own shit so it would stop digging there. Don't think that will work for you, though, bro.

This might sound a bit inappropriate...but we buried our cat in a cheese box...it was round and wooden, ironically enough, our dog (who killed said cat) tried to dig up the cat...and was bitten by a millipede...centipede...a pede of some sort...anyway...the wooden box is a good way to keep the dog out..also maybe some chicken wire or something around the grave site.

Cement shell, fill the hole with cement, and sit around with one of these.

My dogs did the exact same thing, multiple times to one that died. In fact, they did it weeks later.. and.. uh.. yeah.
Tie the dog up or put a wire fence around where the dead dog is buried. |

Most of the above ideas are good. Another thing you can do after you put rocks on top of the site is go buy a can of the spray that people use for inside dogs. There are a ton of brands but the stuff pretty much makes things taste and smell horrible for dogs and cats so they avoid them. Add some of that to the area around the rocks and on the rocks, do this once or twice a day for about a week. By then the dog will associate the area with a negative idea and lose interest. The added bonus here is that it'll also prevent any other animal's curious about what is there from potentially doing the same thing.
Make sure the hole is deep enough too. Most people dig a 2-3ft hole and think that will work. You need to get something at least 3 1/2 - 4ft deep for a good burial. After about a year remove the rocks and plant something there. It'll be good soil and you'll have a nice little memory of the dog. I say this because a dog that old is likely to be missed by family. |

My parents have buried all of our cats in the backyard next to each other and made it into a garden. We never had a problem with things digging it up though.
Most of these ideas work. Eventualy your dog will lose interest so the trick is to keep him otherwise occupied or demotivated until then. Sorry to hear about your troubles, I hope it works out. |
