Question: Smooth Curves
I have searched and found the way Ihmi Showed Lumi an age back, I was just wondering how many ways there are to make smooth curves(For walls, roofs, random curved things in the middle of a map that annoys you Etc) and why that certain way is a lot better than the others!
Yarr, hope you can tell me :P |

Wait, I showed who what? I think you have me confused with Imby, a.k.a. Imbrifer.

Smoothed curves are hard to make. Hammer tends to fuck up your shit if you dont do it the right way.
BumGravy made tutorial about it. Search around the forums, if that is what you are looking for. |

I make the majority of my curves with the arch tool in hammer, but some of the outer-curves I just manually clip them in a similar fashion if they're not too big. If you're not sure how to use it you can use this page:
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/w...rch_Properties It also always makes it in the top view, so if you have a sideways curve(such as the corner of a cieling+wall then you'll need to rotate it afterwards. Also don't go too crazy with the number of sides but make sure theres enough for it to look good. Here's a tutorial that should help you get started: http://www.snarkpit.net/editing.php?...ame=HL2&id=162 |
