I had the idea that the railgun could be used to knock around grenades and even use it as some kind of an improvised grenade cannon (so you could throw a gren then bat it with the railgun to reach the unreachable, but only if your timing was good). You could also clear unprimed grens away from your sentry with some practice. This is on the backburner for the moment. Note that this wouldn't be in any way comparable to a grav gun, or as easy to use.

TFC stats (useless for FF)

TFC's railgun does 23 damage per hit and projectiles travel at 1500 units per second. It uses nails.
