Introduction
This page should be able to get you into the basics of editing this Wiki and figuring everything out. Please note that I (Ihmhi) initially wrote out the Help page on my own and it does not contain any rules set in stone; rather, it contains guidelines that will make working with the Wiki easier for all of us. I have some experience as a Wiki editor on Wikipedia and Memory Alpha (a Star Trek wiki).
Half-Assed Logging In
Click on the Log In/Create Account link at the top of the page. Do not type in your password (it does not work anyway); just type in the name you would normally use (in my case, it is Ihmhi). It will still say "Log In/Create Account" at the top right, but your name and "talk for this ip" should appear at the top right now. This is a quasi-registration that assigns a name to your IP.
Why do this? Well, every article has a "history" tab that shows everyone who has edited an article over its entire history. If you do not sign in it will just show an IP number for who edited the articles.
(Let us hope whoever admins the Wiki will set it up so beta testers can create accounts...)
Editing Articles
If you wish to edit an article, the first thing you would do is click on the "edit" tab of the relevant article. The "Show Preview" button is your friend. Do not be a douche and use actual articles for your experiments with the Wiki code. I have set up The FF Wiki Sandbox for the purposes of testing out your Wiki coding; please use that page for your experimentation.
We really will not need an insanely complex Wiki; I will do my best to handle categorization, templates, tables, etc. little by little. You can learn all of the basics of editing with Wiki code at this link.
Creating Articles
What if an article does not exist? The easiest thing to do is to type the article name that you want to create in the search bar. There will then be a link that says you can "create this article". If you click on it you will then be presented with a completely blank page to work with.
Table of Contents
What 'bout them thar Table O' Contents up at the top of the page?? That gets automatically created when a page has a certain number (I think four) of sections in it. Wiki software owns.
