This page describes in detail the system for article rating used by the FF Wiki Standards Team. Article ratings appear at the bottom of an article and give a quick overview of the article's general quality. The minimum value is zero stars (a stub page) and the maximum value is four stars (excellent quality article). The Wiki Standards Team has the continuing goal of pushing all articles towards the four star rating.

Star Explanations

0 Stars

This article is barely anything but existent; it is a stub page.

1 Star

This article has a "poor" rating.

2 Stars

This article has a "good" rating.

3 Stars

This article has a "great" rating.

4 Stars

This article has an "excellent" rating.

Class Page Guidelines

The following guidelines apply to class pages.

One Star

The article has very basic minimal information. The information may or may not be right. The article either needs to be re-written or actually written in the first place.

Two Stars

Article has the basic, important information about the subject. For instance, if the article were about the Scout class, the article would tell you that the Scout is the fastest class in the game while also listing its weapons and abilities.

  • Weapons/Grenades with brief description of each.
  • Abilities with brief description of each.

Three Stars

In addition to the stuff listed in Two Star, the article is much more detailed. It explains the weapons and abilities very well, as well as their pros and cons. Strategies for using the class and its abilities and weapons are also listed.

  • Basic strategies that would be knowable to someone with little to moderate game experience: Things such as rocket jumping, laying pipe bombs in a trap, etc.
  • Abilities and weapons explained in greater detail: methods of activation and use, links to relevant and more detailed pages are in place (i.e. Class_Ability:Radar).

Four Stars

In addition to the stuff listed in Three Star, the article is very user friendly. In addition to the information being very detailed, it is written very cleanly and it is very user-friendly. There is almost nothing that can be done to improve this article.

  • Strategies, tactics, and other not-so-obvious things about the class are described in the appropriate sections: for example, the flame thrower can be used as a sort of jetpack.
  • All relevant links are in place on the page. This means that there is some way to access the detailed pages about class abilities, weapons, grenades, etc somewhere on the page.
  • The page is an easy (but not simplistically dull) read, has no grammar or spelling mistakes, and flows together well.

Map Page Guidelines

These guidelines are for map pages.

One Star

The article has very basic minimal information. The information may or may not be right. The article either needs to be re-written or actually written in the first place.

Two Stars

The article at least has all information given on the loading screen in-game. A brief description of the map’s setting is also included.

  • Objectives and game type listed in a prominent place.
  • Explanations of how to complete each objective are on the page.

Three Stars

The article consists of everything in a two-star rated article, but it also includes the following. The article has some imagery to assist in the objective explanations. It also lists general strategies for the map (divided into offensive and defensive strategies when appropriate). Furthermore, the overall detail of the article is greater than a two-star article.

  • There are pictures accompanying important objective explanations. Each picture is easily identifiable by the reader as a specific location on the map, i.e. the player should be able to look at the image, hop into the level, then walk around and be able to easily find the place the article talks about.
  • Overall detail of the article is increased. Perhaps some flavor text (see Dustbowl Valley video for an example) is added to the map’s description. Other examples include more detailed objective explanations. For example, instead of “take the ball from the center to the capture point” it may read “take the ball from the center to the capture point, but don’t walk through the enemy lasers as they’ll instantly kill you!”
  • General strategies for offense and defense exist on the page. Examples consist of an analysis of attack routes and a listing of common defensive positions.

Four Star

The article has everything in a two- and three-star article, but is of the utmost quality. It also has the greatest amount of detail for a map page.

  • Strategies for the map are explained in greater detail; perhaps with images or an explanation of how to play a certain position effectively (instead of saying “Here’s a defensive spot,” it would be “Here’s a defensive spot. Put a soldier here.”)
  • The article explains all of the map’s intricacies. An example would be mentioning the kill trigger on the aardvark window.
  • The page is an easy (but not simplistically dull) read, has no grammar or spelling mistakes, and flows together well.
