Movement:Glide Jump
ContentGlide Jumping, aka Circle Jumping, is an extension of Strafe Jumping. Instead of just holding the forward and strafe keys, an additional mouse movement is required to gain further acceleration. The player should set themselves up to be ~90 degrees to the intended direction of travel. Then, the player should hold forward, strafe and then rotate towards their direction of travel (turning in the same direction as the strafe, i.e. right strafe & rotate to the right or left strafe & rotate to the left) before jumping while keeping the forward and strafe keys held. The turning of the mouse adds a further acceleration which increases the player's velocity before jumping. Like Strafe Jumping, this extra velocity is maintained while airborne due to a lack of friction. The act of performing a Glide Jump has been likened to tracing out part of a circle on the ground, hence the Quake community naming it the Circle Jump. |
